Southeast Louisiana Hunting & Fishing Guide

Duck hunting is a way of life for us here at Waterfowl Specialist Guide Service, and in the south there is nothing like living off our beautiful wetlands. There is an unspeakable feeling of joy watching the sun rising and having a flock of ducks committed to the decoys.  Having a guide that has been born and raised in these marshlands with the ability to call any species of ducks is one of the many things we have to offer.

Another thing about us is that we do all hunts out of Gator Trax with pop up blinds, and we use the finest decoys on the market today. We take pride in customer satisfaction, insuring to make for an unforgettable experience which will be sure to keep you coming back for more. We are located in Shell Beach, Louisiana which is conveniently located only 35 mins from downtown New Orleans. Our land is privately leased marshes with a wide variety of species of both puddle and diving ducks. So come experience some of the finest duck hunting that Southeast Louisiana has to offer!

Waterfowl Specialist Guide Service

As a Louisiana duck hunting guide, you learn year after year to deal with what Mother Nature throws your way. Some years we have lots of rain, some years we have lots of wind, and some years we have lots of ducks. This is not one of those years for ducks but we sure have had lots of rain. It’s my job as a guide to figure out what to do when the ducks just don’t show up like they have in years past. Every night before I go to bed my mind is racing thinking about Louisiana duck hunting.

What I have don’t this year is really try to hunt where the ducks want to be. In theory, that sounds simple but on a year where duck numbers are low this can be quite the challenge. It involves me covering a lot of ground to check my different properties. I have to constantly be on the move to figure out where the ducks want to hang out for a few days. We have made the best of our opportunities when I put my Louisiana duck guide clients in the blind. Some days we shoot lots of bluebills and some days we shoot teal. I am always trying to find the Gadwall but they have been in short supply this year.

We’ve had some really great hunts. If you just count numbers, then this has not been our best year, but with a lower duck hatch this year and the lack of cold weather to force migration, we are having a pretty good year. I just love duck hunting so I put a lot of work into making a great experience for my clients.
